Description
Benefits
- Constructed from schedule 40 welded pipe, ensuring durability and reliability in demanding applications.
- Male NPT x male NPT configuration facilitates seamless integration with existing piping systems.
In the realm of plumbing and piping systems, a nipple serves as a crucial connector, typically comprising a short segment of pipe equipped with male pipe threads on both ends to join two fittings. A “close nipple” is distinguished by its absence of unthreaded sections, allowing minimal exposure when securely fastened between two female fittings. Removal of a close nipple can be challenging; it often requires the use of a pipe wrench on one threaded end, which may damage the threads, necessitating replacement. Alternatively, a specialized tool known as a nipple wrench (or internal pipe wrench) can be employed to grip the interior of the pipe, preserving the integrity of the threads.
